Welcome! Big post today. A whole lot of Star Wars books, comics, and toys coming out next week!
In this post, I’ll take a look at everything you should expect to see released next week on March 5th (books) and March 6th (comics) as well as every Star Wars comic with a final order cutoff deadline this upcoming Monday, March 4th.
Before we get started…
I just launched a Kickstarter campaign with retro Silver Age style comic book art prints by artist @dvglzv! Including a commission I hired him for to create a 70’s looking comic book cover for Star Wars: Drunk Wooky #1! It’s not a real comic but the art is incredible and he’s one of my favorite artists. The project is already funded at over 400% of my initial goal and we’re on to the 2nd stretch goal with plenty more to come.

Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad TPB by Marc Guggenheim, Salva Espin, and David Messina – This trade paperback collects Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad #1-4 and is a story about how R2-D2 teams up with IG-88, QT-KT, 0-0-0, BT-1, 4-LOM, and more to take down the Scourge that is infecting droids across the galaxy. It’s a crossover mini-series that ties into Dark Droids.
Star Wars Vol. 7 – Dark Droids TPB by Charles Soule and Madibek Musabekov – Another Dark Droids crossover trade paperback. This book collects Star Wars (2020) 37-41 and is about Lando Calrissian’s journey to save his friend Lobot from the scourge. Leading him to betray the rebellion and infiltrate Jabba’s Palace to find the one thing that can save his friend. Ties into Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars #44 by Charles Soule and Madibek Musabekov – Lando burned some bridges when he went rogue in the Dark Droids crossover event and now has to face the leaders of the Rebellion at his trial. I genuinely have no idea how this is going to go. I’m a little bit bummed that we’re moving away from Luke’s storyline so quickly. I’ve enjoyed it a lot. But still interested to see where this goes. I think we start to see more Return of the Jedi Easter eggs in the coming issues as we approach that part of the timeline.
I love the Hera cover.

Star Wars: The High Republic #4 Phase III by Cavan Scott, James Towe, and Marika Cresta – The fourth issue from the main Marvel Comics from Phase III of the High Republic. Based on the variant covers, you have to think we’re going to see Jedi Master Sskeer officially return in this one. He’s on the Mico Suayan connecting variant and virgin 1:100 variant with tattered clothes, both arms (it grew back!), looking pretty feral. Doubtful that he’s in a good spot. It seems like his illness has fully taken him over and Keeve will likely try to save him.
I love the Mico Suayan variants and the 1:25 Lourna Dee variant by Ben Harvey.
Star Wars: The High Republic – Defy The Storm by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton – This is the first YA Novel in Phase III of the High Republic and will have Vernestra Rwoh and Avon Starros as the main protagonists. First off, Tessa Gratton is one of my favorite Star Wars writers. I like Justina Ireland as well, but Gratton is probably in my top 5. The two authors worked together on Star Wars: The High Republic – Path of Deceit in Phase II and it was one of my favorite books from the phase.
Star Wars Toys Coming In March 2024 – It feels like there are an abnormal amount of Star Wars toys, LEGO, statues, pops, etc. coming out this Month. Entertainment Earth shows 302 items set to release in March. I don’t follow that nearly as closely as I do comics books that feels like a lot. You can check them all out here on Entertainment Earth.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 3/04/24 this week.
