Welcome back! Let’s take a look at all Star Wars comics and books scheduled to be released next week on April 30th and May 1st as well as every Star Wars comic or book with a final order cutoff deadline this upcoming Monday, April 28th.
Let’s dig into it.
Star Wars: The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight TPB by Charles Soule and Jethro Morales – First off, I loved this mini-series. It’s some of my favorite High Republic material from Phase III to date. Personally, while I love The High Republic Era, Phase III has been a bit of a letdown thus far. I just have not connected with it as much as I did Phase I. This mini-series is the exception.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Board Book by Al Williamson – This is a children’s book by Abrams Appleseed that retells The Empire Strikes Back in 30 hardboard pages. So that your little ones won’t ruin the pages. But let’s be real… they’ll still ruin it. Just slower.
Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace 25th Anniversary Special #1 – This one-shot comic will tell a few new stories set during Episode I. I love that movie so I’m excited to check this out. I don’t expect any huge lore bending material or anything. Just small stories to fill in some context from lines or story points introduced in The Phantom Menace. I’m a big fan of the Padme cover and the 1:25 Tusken Raider cover.

Star Wars Insider #225 by Titan Comics – Includes High Republic fiction, Ahsoka BTS material, an interview with Billy Dee Williams, etc. The foil variant is pretty damn sick.
Star Wars Toys Coming In April 2024 – Just like in March, there are a TON of new Star Wars action figures, statues, backpacks, accessories, etc. set to come out in April. Currently, Entertainment Earth has over 270 different items with an April 2024 ETA. You can check them all out here on Entertainment Earth.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 4/29/24 this week.
