Star Wars: Mace Windu #3 by Marc Bernardin and Georges Jeanty, comes out this Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. Marvel Comics has provided us with a 6-page preview to check out before the release.

Star Wars: Mace Windu #3 (of 4) by Marc Bernardin and Georges Jeanty – In the 2nd issue of Star Wars: Mace Windu there were a few first appearances. Diya, Muro, Bishop, and Yaya Shram. Yaya Shram is an Anzellan (Babu Frik’s species) and is on the Wachter variant for this issue.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I had previously stated that the Yaya Shram variant was a 1:25 variant. Apparently, that is incorrect. Not sure if it was an incentive variant but they changed that or if I was wrong the jump. But I swear I remember seeing that it was a 1:25 retailer incentive variant.
It’s notable that many of the first appearances in issue #2 were only one page. I’d personally consider that a first appearance but the market may like issue #3 more since they’ll likely play a larger role. The solicit also implies that this is the issue that “introduces” some of the characters from issue 2.
The preview shows Mace Windu and Azita Cruuz trying to escape with the formula for coaxium ultra, a new fuel source that could be trouble if it falls into the wrong hands. Since Azita broadcasted out this discovery to pretty much any faction, group, etc. (including the Jedi) who may want access to it, she’s now a target for powerful enemies who want to steal this information for themselves.
Based on the preview below and the publisher description, it appears two (or more) groups will be in pursuit of Azita and her formula. One being the Dusk Weavers of the Had’le Path, a group of zealots who want to put an end to technology somehow, and Yaya Shram’s group of scoundrels and smugglers.
