Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #4 Phase III by Daniel Jose Older, Elisa Romboli, and Harvey Tolibao comes out NEXT Wednesday on March 13th, 2024 and today we get a sneak peek into the issue with a 4-page preview from Dark Horse Comics (via Star Wars News Net)!
This book is the fourth issue from the all-ages Dark Horse Comics run from Phase III of the High Republic. In this issue, Zeen and Lula are putting together a strike team to infiltrate the Nihil Occlusion Zone to attack a prison ship in the hopes of freeing some of their lost Jedi friends.

The preview shows a meeting with the members of that strike force discussing the upcoming mission. That page shows a handful of first appearances. Here’s everyone involved.
- Lula Talisola – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #1 from Phase I
- Zeen Mrala – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #1 from Phase I
- Admiral Pevel Kronara – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic – Eye of the Storm #2
- Jedi Knight Qort – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #1 from Phase I
- Jedi Master Kantam Sy – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #2 from Phase I
- Jedi Master Tani Briwell – Appears briefly in Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #1 from Phase III but that is a cameo as she does not speak and is not named. This will be Tani Briwell’s first full comic appearance.
- Jedi Padawan Eoin Gorcan – First cameo appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight #1. This will be Eoin Gorcan’s first full comic appearance.
- Argomon – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #3 from Phase III
- 5A-G3 – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #3 from Phase III
- Jedi Master Fleur Ridleg – This will be Fleur Ridleg’s first full comic appearance. They have never appeared elsewhere.
- Jedi Padawan Iric Lams – This will be Iric Lams’ first full comic appearance.. They have never appeared elsewhere.
- Jedi Knight Ady Sun’Zee – First appearance is Star Wars: The High Republic Shadows of Starlight #1
And that’s just on two pages! There are more members of this trike force that are not mentioned at the moment.
Then there’s the Nihil. I personally would call the previous issue, Star Wars: The High Republic #3 from Phase III, Niv Drendow Apruk’s first full comic appearance. Though, based on cover art, he’s going to be a major character in this comic.
So some may try to call the previous issue a cameo. Which is fine. It’s all subjective and I would rather eat my own foot than argue first appearances with strangers online. Niv is the apprentice of Baron Boolan, the Nihil Minister of Advancement. He’s essentially a scientist that performs sick experiments on people.

Also, cover A is the first cover appearance of Niv Drendow, Deblindrix III (a baby nameless) and two other characters. I believe the one one the left is Driggit Parse from the Escape from Valo book. The one on the right I’m unsure of at the moment. I’m not done with Escape from Valo but I’d imagine that they are also in that book. This would be both Driggit and that character’s first comic book appearance.
So, you’re looking at 5-6+ first appearances in this book making it the biggest key from Phase III so far AFTER Star Wars: The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight #1. Star Wars: The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight #1 is one of the biggest keys in all of the High Republic in my opinion.
