Hello there and welcome to the weekly new Star Wars comics post where I break down all new comics that will come out next week as well as all Star Wars comics with a final order cutoff next Monday!

Star Wars #37 by Charles Soule comes out next week and in it we will see Lando pitted against a “scourge” infected Lobot. I’m sure the two best friends will work out their issues though. I will say that this Tweet from Soule has me pretty excited about the issue.Â
The Star Wars: Lando series was fantastic and is one of my favorite Star Wars comics mini-series in canon. Just a fun self-contained story that has everything you could want in a comic series.Â
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – Max Rebo #1 by Daniel Jose Older also comes out next week. It’s going to be odd reading something non-High Republic rated from DJO but his light-hearted quicky style (aside from Trail of Shadows) feels like a great fit for a Max Rebo-centered story.Â
I anticipate this will go underordered and the 1:100 variant could be a ghost down the road. It’s the last one-shot in the Return of the Jedi one-shot series Marvel put together and may get overshadowed by Dark Droids with all the marketing around it. Also, unlike the other ROTJ one-shots, there is no 1:25 to help off-set the costs for retailers who want to get the 1:25.

- Star Wars: Dark Droids #2 – Loved the first issue and continue to love the cover art.
- Star Wars #38 – Just look at that damn Commander Cody variant by E.M. Gist. Love it.
- Star Wars: The High Republic – Tales of Life and Light YA Novel. I already have a copy and I love it. Definitely worth the read.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 8/07/23 this week.
