Let’s get into it.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #3 Phase III by Daniel Jose Older, Harvey Tolibao, and Nick Brokenshire – The 3rd issue of the all ages High Republic Phase III run from Dark Horse comics that will dive deeper into exactly what Lula has been up to since the fall of Starlight Beacon and losing her memory. I’ve gotten an early copy of this one and it’s both beautifully written and illustrated. Nick Brokenshire can draw every comic I read for all I care. He’s incredible.

I can’t give away spoilers (if I do I’ll stop getting early copies) but I can say that there are a few first appearances in this one and it’s likely going to be considered a key issue for Phase III of the High Republic.

Both covers bang. You can’t go wrong with either cover A or cover B for this one.

Star Wars: Darth Vader #43 by Greg Pak and Adam Gorham – There’s a lot going on in the Darth Vader series. First of all, in the last issue, Darth Vader #42, we got the first full comic appearances of Enric Pryde and Blades, Chamdaka, and Tandorvo of the M.A.R. Corps. The M.A.R. Corps has a ton of potential to me. They’re a group of cyborg Rebels who get taken over by Vader using technology adopted from the Scourge. They may not translate well to live action but they’re a super fun and perfect for comic stories. This issue will continue that story and include the return of Anakin’s childhood friends, Kitster and Wald as Vader assembles a team to take on the Schism Imperial, a group of Empire loyalists dead set on taking him out for the Emperor.

Like I said… a lot is happening. But it’s a welcome boost of action from what we’ve been getting in much of this Vader run. I’m a big fan of the Ezra and Chopper Star Wars Rebels 10th Anniversary variant by Caspar Wijngaard.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines

For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 2/12/24 this week.
