Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 #1 comes out next week and today we were treated with a 5 page preview courtesy of Starwars.com.
Like the first volume, this run will be 8 issues that adapts each episode from Star Wars The Mandalorian. One episode per issue. While that doesn’t leave much to the imagination story wise it does give collectors a chance to snag first comic appearances of characters from Season 2 without the guesswork.
And let’s be honest, the only reason these exists is to fill that insatiable hunger that collectors have for first appearances.
This issue includes the first appearances of
- Gor Koresh – The Abyssan gangster that tried to steal Mando’s armor at the gamorean death match
- Jo – A human settler in Freetown that also appears in the Book of Boba Fett
- Taanti – the Weequay bartender from Freetown
- And Cobb Vanth, the main reason to get this issue
The star of the show for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 #1 is Cobb Vanth. His story is far from over in live action (see Book of Boba Fett post credits scene) and is a loved character by fans.
The E.M. Gist variant of Cobb wearing Boba’s armor is incredible and the easy cover choice if you’re not a cover A purist.
