Two Days Left For The Best Star Wars Art I’ve Ever Seen

Frikin Cool As Hell

Ok, here’s the situation…

If you’ve missed my posts about it, I’m raising money to rebuild this website. To do that I partnered with fan artist, @dvglzv, who specializes in retro style comic art prints. He typically creates comic cover art for each episode of the Star Wars and MCU shows on Disney+.

His art is fantastic and he’s in my top 5 favorite artists.

You can check out the prints available on the Kickstarter page here.

As I type this:

  • There are 38 hours left to go in the Kickstarter campaign.
  • The campaign has eclipsed 600% of the original $500 goal with $3,128
  • Which means we are only $275.69 away from hitting stretch goal #2

If we get this silly Kickstarter up to $3,420.69 everyone who backed a product reward will also get a free die-cut Grand Admiral Frik bookmark. He’s cut out from the elbows up so when your book is closed… all you see is his silly little head poking out.

Judging you.
Evaluating you.
And ultimately…encouraging you to FINISH THE DAMN BOOK ALREADY!

And if you don’t know the reason why he exists… or if you found this from a search on kickstarter and this is all confusing as kark to you… here’s the backstory.

IRL. Before I was given full ownership of drunkwooky.com, my initial plan was to simply help out with the site. Since the OG owner, Adam (great guy who I still talk to regularly!), was “Drunk Wooky” I came up with the character name Grand Admiral Frik to use as the “author” on my posts.

In Universe. Want lore?? I have lore. Grand Admiral Frik is not actually Babu Frik. He’s Babu’s brother (duh! Can’t believe you thought it was Babu!) and was a Grand Admiral in the Imperial Navy during the Rise of the Empire. While he’s a capable Admiral, he’s much more interested in growing his own personal wealth than furthering the goals of the Empire.

So he works with scoundrels, like Ebracca a.k.a Drunk Wooky, to find, steal, collect, and eventually sell valuable artifacts. He’s a real piece of shit this guy.

He’s kind of like that Whatnot seller who got caught stealing from people. But smaller.

If you read through all of that… thank you for humoring me. I have no interest in becoming a professional comic book writer but it’s fun to come up with backstories.

And now you have the chance to get a FIRST PRINT edition of this bookmark.

Does “first print” matter on a made up character from a blog bookmark?? No! Of course not. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN ASK THAT?! But I’m trying to lay on the hype here.

GO BACK THE KICKSTARTER HERE AND HELP ME ACHIEVE MY DREAMS

What’s that? You want even more of the Grand Admiral??

Good. Because I’ve added new Grand Admiral Frik art to the campaign for the final stretch! The art is by Andy Duggan!

Andy did the art for Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories #8 and the cover for the upcoming Young Jedi Adventures Nubs cover for FCBD 2024.

He liked what I had going on and offered to create some art to help hit that next stretch goal. And he CAME THROUGH big time.

Look at it. Just look at it. It’s beautiful. I love it and I hope you do too.

That’s mother kriffing Grand Admiral Frik atop his palanquin, “Peggy” (P-EG-16), a GNK series droid as his fleet flies overhead during his latest conquest.

You see, Grand Admiral Frik is a proud Anzellan. But he hates always being looked down on when addressing his subordinates, enemies, and those simply lucky enough to grace his presence due to his height. So the Grand Admiral rides around on GONK Droid named “Peggy” (P-EG-16) like karking Xerxes or something. Someone as important as he needs to be looked on with respect.

I’ve added 8×10 prints to this campaign to that this moment may be immortalized on your wall for the rest of time. You will alwasy remember the Grand Admiral striking fear in anyone who dares to question him.

For current backers you can add this to your pledge as an “add-on” for just $10

New backers who only want this print will be able to get them for $14 on the main campaign page.

50% of the profit from these will go to Andy Duggan. He actually offered to just do this because he liked the Kickstarter and wanted to help out.

First off, holy shit, what an amazing thing to offer. Andy is a talented artist who creates comic professionally. But it’s more fun if we split it. So hopefully we sell a million of these so his effort and kindness are rewarded.  He didn’t have to offer, but he did, and that means he has a fan for life.

Any comic that he’s involved in, you should get. He’s officially the first ever #homieoftheweek.

That’s all for now.

Only a few days left. Let’s have some fun.
