Hello there and good day every Wookiee! Today I want to take a look at everything Star Wars related that is set to release next week, January 31st, 2024. As well as all Star Wars comics with a final order cutoff next Monday, January 28th!
Since Star Wars: Visions – Takashi Okazaki #1 got pushed back again, by nearly a full month, all the way to March 20th – this week is lighter than normal. One comic and one collected edition.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #40 (2020) by Alyssa Wong and Minkyu Jung – This is the final issue of Alyssa Wong’s Star Wars: Doctor Aphra run that kicked off all the back in 2020. And it’s the 2nd series finale of a Doctor Aphra titled comic series. Aphra has been around since 2016. She’s easily the biggest comic created (in comics first) since Marvel took over with the Disney acquisition. She’s a staple for Star Wars comic fans. I don’t know if this issue will be a key and a future high-dollar book. Chances are it won’t be. But it will be important for lore as it will wrap up years of continuous storytelling.
But if you are worried that Doctor Aphra will die, I have good news…
Aphra lives! But was it really ever in doubt? Aphra isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. This was also teased in Star Wars: Revelations #1 (2023) which came out in December 2023. There’s a short story called “Tall Tales” in that comic book that introduces a new Bounty Hunter named Raslin Grace who plans on hunting Aphra.
The new comic will be called something along the lines of Star Wars: Doctor Aphra Bounty Hunter based on the listing. It will likely have Aphra and Raslin as the main characters in it and Alyssa Wong and David Baldeon as the main creative team behind it. They wrote the short story in Star Wars: Revelations #1 so it just makes sense.

Star Wars Legends Epic Collection – The Menace Revealed Vol. 04 – This epic collection is being produced by Marvel Comics but it collects a bunch of Clone Wars era comics from the o.g. Dark Horse days. You can see everything included in it below in the publisher description.

For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 1/28/24 this week.
