Welcome to the weekly new Star Wars comics post where I break down all-new comics & books coming out next week, December 27th, 2023. As all Star Wars comics with a final order cutoff next Monday, December 25th!
Also I’ve posted quite a bit less this month and have gotten a few DMs on Instagram from people checking in to make sure everything is ok. Everything is all good my wookiees. Just swamped with day job work, Christmas stuff, and kids constantly getting sick. Hoping to ramp things back up with more actual analysis of comics in the coming weeks.
Let’s get into it.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 #7 by Rodney Barnes and Georges Jeanty – This issue adapts the episode where Din Djarrin, Boba Fett, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, and Migs Mayfeld attack the rhydonium facility on Morak to get security codes for Moff Gideon’s Imperial cruiser. It’s also the episode where Migs Mayfeld, played by Bill Burr, goes from annoying antagonist to relatable good guy. One of the best episodes of The Mandalorian. The Mico Suayan variant is the first time we see Din’s face on a comic cover.
UPDATE: March and April 2024 Comics and Books Are Live on TFAW
Star Wars: Dark Droids #5 by Charles Soule and Luke Ross – The finale of the Dark Droids crossover event will show the epic showdown between Ajax Sigma and The Scourge. I get the feeling that both will be destroyed but Ajax’s neural core will be saved somehow just in case he’s used in future stories. I think this will be the end of The Scourge but Ajax will live on. I really like the Scourge Action Figure variant by John Tyler Christopher.
FOC: No Star Wars comics and/or books with an FOC deadlines this Monday. Because it’s Christmas and mother kriffin’ Santa has outlawed final order cutoffs to steal all of the spotlight. This is canon.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 12/25/23 this week.
Nothing on FOC this week. But the March 2024 (and some April) 2024 comics are up for pre-order on TFAW. If you’re in a?pre-ordering mood you can go peep those here:
