New Star Wars Comics November 1st 2023

Welcome to the weekly new Star Wars comics post where I break down all-new comics & books coming out next week, October 31st and November 1st, as well as all Star Wars comics with a final order cutoff next Monday, October 30th!

Ready to dig in?

NEW: Black Series Starkiller, Vader, and Mandalorian Figures Dropped This Week

Star Wars Legends The Empire Omnibus Vol. 2 – This is a collection of OG Dark Horse Star Wars comics set during the time of The Empire. I didn’t grow up reading comics in the 90’s so there are so many of these I have not read yet. I need to crack this thing open.

Star Wars Insider 222 – This magazine will have BTS stories about the Mandalorian Season 3 and an interview with Tim Rose who played Admiral Ackbar. But the main draw is the two new fiction stories. One set in the High Republic and one during the reign of the Empire. I need to restart my subscription. I’m hoping for a nice Black Friday deal next month.

UPDATE: Pre-Orders For The Newly Announced January 2024 Comics Are Live On TFAW

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Monster of Temple Peak and Other Stories by Cavan Scott and Rachel Stott – This TPB collects all four issues of The Monster of Temple Peak where we were first introduced to Ty Yorrick. Former Jedi turned monster hunter and one of the more interesting characters in the High Republic. I already own the international version (still in English) that was published by Panini earlier this year or I’d be getting this.

Star Wars #40 by Charles Soule and Madibek Musabekov – This issue should conclude (at least somewhat) Lando’s quest to save his friend and valued target of the Scourge, Lobot. I welcome the addition of Luke and Chewbacca to the story as I felt it was a bit too contained the last few issues. I dig the “Destroyer Droid” action figure variant by John Tyler Christopher.

Star Wars Hyperspace Stories #10 by Michael Moreci and Andrea Mutti – The first appearance of The Bad Batch in comics! The story takes place prior to Echo and Omega joining the squad AND before Crosshair becomes disillusioned and joins the Empire. So it’s the first appearance of Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair. Both covers are great but I personally like cover B. I like the art better and typically cover B’s have a lower print run. I don’t really do “top pick of the week” stuff, but if I did, this would be it.

NEW: 2024 Star Wars One-Shot Comic Release Dates and Variant Checklist

Star Wars comics with an FOC deadline this upcoming Monday, October 30th, are:

  • Star Wars #41 (that Rod Reis variant bangs)
  • Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad #4 (LOVE the Ajax Sigma cover. It’s his first cover outside of the 1:50 from D-Squad #1)

Check out everything new coming up (including all variants) below and get your pre-orders in over at TFAW or here over The Comic Corner.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines

For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 10/30/23 this week.
