Over the last few years (and more particularly over the last 6 weeks with the Ahsoka show) we’ve begun to see some of our favorite animated characters from Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars adapted to live action.
So far Ahsoka, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger, Zeb and more have been dripped out into the New Republic era shows by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau on Disney Plus.
But this Rebels representation wont end there. Marvel comics will be celebrating the 10th anniversary (10 years?!?!) of Star Wars: Rebels with a variant series by Casper Wijngaard for both the Darth Vader (2020) by Greg Pak and the main Star Wars (2020) by Charles Soule runs.
The comic variants will include Sabine Wren, The Grand Inquisitor, Kallus, Zeb, Kanan, Ezra, Chopper, Hera, Ahsoka, and the goat himself… Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Check out the preliminary art below:
This variant series will from January 2024 – April 2024 and will be include on issues 42-45 for both the current Star Wars and Darth Vader runs.
“It was such an honor to be involved in the 10th anniversary for Rebels. Having recently revisited the adventures of the Spectres in preparation for Ahsoka, this opportunity was perfect timing,” Wijngaard tells StarWars.com. “We’ve been absolutely spoiled with Rebels content these last few weeks and I’m glad I could be a part of it in some way.”
I personally love the art style and man it’s good seeing some of these characters illustrated for official comics.
That’s all for now!
