The next new comic book day is Wednesday, January 25th, 2023 and it’s an exciting one for Star Wars fans with the release of Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #28, Star Wars: Yoda #3, Star Wars: The High Republic – The Blade #2 and the Star Wars Legends New Republic Vol 1 Omnibus.
I’ve written about this a bunch so it’s no surprise that my favorite singe issue this week is The High Republic The Blade #2. I know people who have read it (I haven’t yet) and there are for sure multiple first appearances in the issue.
Same goes for Yoda #3 as it wraps up the High Republic 3 issue arc by Cavan Scott.
Then, while I have no clue on first appearances, Doctor Aphra intrigues me because I’m really digging the story right now. Plus cover A is the final Aphra cover from long time Doctor Aphra artist, Scott Forbes. I’m a big fan of Scott’s work so I’ll be picking that one up.
I’ve also already pre-ordered my copy of the New Republic Volume #1 omnibus. I’ve never read Rogue Squadron in it’s entirety before and I’m excited to dig into the full story. Getting all of those issues individually isn’t the cheapest thing in the world to do so I expect this to sell well.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 1/22/23 this week.
