The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer Teases More Grogu Order 66 Scenes

Disney and their marketing team decided to release a new official trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian during the halftime show of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday night playoff showdown.

Which makes sense. Disney owns the rights to Star Wars and owns ESPN. Get more viewers for your playoff game AND get more hype around the upcoming season of your most popular show? Why not?

Season 3 of the The Mandalorian premieres on March 1st on Disney+.

And by the way… what a trailer it was. We got more shots of Din Djarin with other Mandalorian soldiers, Doctor Pershing on Coruscant, Grogu with more refined force powers, Babu kriffin Frik, and a whole lot more.

What caught my attention the most though was the short clip of Order 66. In the 5th episode of the Book of Boba Fett we were given a short clip of Grogu during Order 66 being protected by Jedi who would eventually fall to Anakin and the 501st Clones.

The fact that we are getting more of that in this season is not really a surprise but it’s significant as one of the most asked questions about our favorite frog eating force user is, “How the hell did he escape?”

I’ve long held the belief that it would somehow be tied to Barris Offee. Disillusioned Jedi turned terrorist who blew up a portion of the temple when she believed the Jedi had lost their way.

Dave Filoni has said that her story is not over. To me she is a perfect foe to face off against Ahsoka at some point in live action because:

  1. Barriss Offee pinned the attack on Ahsoka causing her to flee the Jedi temple before getting arrested
  2. The fact that the Jedi council thought Ahsoka would do something like that lead to her falling out with the Order and renouncing the Jedi path for herself.

In short, the two are connected.

Barriss Offee first appears in a traditional comic in Dark Horse’s Star Wars: Republic #65.

Regardless of who saved Grogu… this trailer shows that we are going to get the answer sooner than later.

This is the way.
