New Star Wars Halcyon Legacy #3 Cover Reveal from E.M. Gist

by DrunkWooky

Marvel really are too good to us Star Wars fans! We have countless beautiful Phil Noto covers from across the years and now they’ve put E.M. Gist on the A covers for the Galactic Starcruiser comic tie-in mini series, Halcyon Legacy!

Today, he posted an extremely early reveal of issue #3 slated for a March 2022 release!

We’re seeing a theme emerge here, with the Halcyon Legacy ship prominently featured on each cover and characters from all eras of the Star Wars saga alongside. Issue #1 shows Jedi Wookiee of the High Republic Era, Burryaga Agaburry. Issue #2 shows prequel bounty hunters Aurra Sing and Zam Wessel! This reveal is so early that pre-orders aren’t even available yet. Check out the covers to issues #1 and #2 below, though! Grab a pre-order so you don’t miss out!

E.M. Gist, known for his horror imagery and his work on Magic: The Gathering illustrations, is relatively new to Star Wars comic illustration. Man, he’s making a major blockbuster splash, though!

SyFy had the exclusive reveal earlier today:

Here’s how Marvel describes the issue, which will also include an appearance by a fan-favorite Dark Side Force user:

“Anakin and Padmé are in disguise aboard the Halcyon tracking a senator suspected of having separatist ties! But their secret mission will put them on a collision course with Asajj Ventress.”

And here’s how Sacks described working on the story:

“One of the best parts of writing this mini-series is that chance to visit different eras aboard this beautiful starcruiser,” he told SYFY WIRE. “And one of my favorite eras is during the Clone Wars, back when Anakin and Padmé are in the midst of forging their legends. As much as this particular issue of the Halcyon Legacy is a love story, it’s also a love letter from Will Sliney and I to these characters who hold a special place in the hearts of so many Star Wars fans. Including us. But this isn’t a pleasure cruise for our heroes. They’re on a secret mission. And all that romance doesn’t mean it won’t be necessary to break out a lightsaber or blaster when the mission takes a turn…”
