Keeve Joins the Nihil
First off, Keeve and Terec join the Nihil! We already knew this from the preview.
What we had a hunch about and is now confirmed, however, is that this is all part of an undercover plot to infiltrate the Nihil and take it down from the inside!
Jedi discuss The Eye of the Nihil and Lourna Dee
We flash back to the Jedi of Starlight Beacon conferring with Jedi Master Stellan Gios back on Coruscant. They are discussing the status of the Nihil response. Here, Burryaga makes his second unnamed cameo without dialogue. He made his first in High Republic #1. The Jedi know there is a leader to the Nihil, known as “The Eye.” They also know three Tempest Runners report to the Eye. The Jedi mistakenly believe Lourna Dee to be the Eye of the Nihil and are reporting her as dead. The reader know she is just a Tempest Runner and Marchion Ro is the true Eye of the Nihil. This is Lourna Dee’s first cameo, named, with no dialogue. Lourna Dee made a prior cover appearance on the High Republic #1 Blanche concept variant. Cavan Scott plans to tell Lourna Dee’s full back story in the audio book Tempest Runner.
Chief Tarpfen Chimes In
During this discussion, a female Mon Calamari chief of Security for Starlight Beacon, Ghal Tarpfen chimes in. This is her first comics cameo after two fiction appearances in Star Wars Insider issues 201-204.
Nooranbakarakana Joins the Fight
Meanwhile, in the present, the Starlight Beacon’s clandestine and unsanctioned operation is underway. A Jedi drift lead by Master Sskeer engages with Keeve and Terec. During the coordination from the Jedi ship, Ataraxia, we get the first appearance of Nooranbakarakana, Frozian Jedi. Yes, that name is a mouthful!
The Nihil answer Keeve’s distress signal and pick them up. Now they’re in!
Keeve Meet’s Pan Eyta’s Replacement
Keeve and Terec claim to be part of Pan Eyta’s Tempest. Pan Eyta was killed in a skirmish during the Light of the Jedi novel.
Finally, Keeve meets Kassav’s replacement, Zeetar. Zeetar, a male Talpini, has little man syndrome. Hence the mechanized power suit. This is Zeetar’s first comic appearance.

A High-Flying Jedi
I’ll keep it brief here. Krix attacks Takodana, Maz Kanata’s base of operations. You may remember Maz Kanata from her palace cantina in The Force Awakens. There is a Jedi Outpost on Takodana and its defended by a brand new Jedi, Sav Malagan. This is Sav’s first appearance and she appears to be a badass:
We learn that the Jedi is Sav Malagan. Sav is a Kyuzo Jedi, and rumored to be one of the most bad-ass Jedi alive at the time. Also interesting to note, Embo, the popular Bounty Hunter is also Kyuzo. Embo first appeared in Star Wars Adventures (2017) #16.
