The list of Star Wars High Republic #3 store exclusive variants is steadily growing. We already saw TFAW’s cover from the wonderful Jan Duursema and today Mike Mayhew’s Marchion Ro cover sold out in a flash.
Now two other stores have thrown their hats into the ring. Each of these have first cover appearances for characters on them so I added them to the ongoing First Appearances and Key Issues List.
First up, Forbidden Planet from across the pond in London are offering the Kev Walker exclusive variant below. Unless another cover surfaces between now and release date, this will be the first cover appearance of Jedi Grand Master Veter (back right):
The cover is available in a set of two for £32.99. The set contains a trade dress and virgin variant. No print run announced, but Marvel usually requires a 3,000 copy minimum for trade dress and 1,000 for virgin cover.
Next up, Wanted Comix will be tied or competing with the Mike Mayhew variant for first cover appearance of Marchion Ro:

It could just be the pump part of pump and dump, but Mayhew was explicitly telling people his was the FIRST COVER APPEARANCE. I think that’ll be embedded in people’s consciousnesses even if they come out the same day–especially since the resell preorders will be all over eBay for almost two weeks before the Botcomix edition goes on sale.
Yeah, I tend to agree. I favor Mayhew’s in the first cover race. Pre-sold first, he has five shops in addition to his own running logistics shipping them out, so it’s more likely they get delivered first. I also personally prefer that cover.
