PREVIEW: Boba Takes on the Black Sun Syndicate in Bounty Hunters #36

Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #36 by Ethan Sacks & Lan Medina comes out tomorrow and today I come to you with a 6 page preview of the issue that breaks down a bit of what to expect.

Now before we get to the preview I wanted to retract a prediction about this issue that now appears incorrect.

In the New Star Wars Comics & Books For July 12th 2023 post I wrote:

Boba Fett is teaming up with T’onga, Durge, Deathstick, 4-Lom, and Zuckuss to settle the score with the Black Sun syndicate. I expect this to be the first “official” appearance of Prince Xizor in comics. He was shown (unnamed) as a hologram in Star Wars: Hidden Empire #1 but this issue should make it official. I don’t have inside info or early copies and this is just a prediction. Regardless, I don’t know that the “first full canon appearance of Prince Xizor” will move the needle all that much value wise. Could cause a pop but nothing to go nuts over.The cover to get for Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #36 is the Jerry Ordway “classic trade dress” variant in my humble opinion. It’s an homage to the 80’s Return of the Jedi comic covers and it’s beautiful.

While I personally have not read this issue yet I have seen someone mention that a different Black Sun member has his first appearance in Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #36.

No mention of Xizor.

This doesn’t completely rule out Xizor being included… but I no longer expect him to be.

Either way. It’s Boba. Durge. Death Stick. Valance. Etc. I’m still excited to read it.

My current guess is that they help Boba clear his name (amicably or not) with Black Sun in this issue just in time for Beilert Valance to be infected with “The Scourge” that takes over all of the droids in the Star Wars Dark Droids crossover event that starts in august.
