PREVIEW: Silvan Kaan Schemes With Jabba’s Protocol Droid In Star Wars Jabba’s Palace #1

Next Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, the first of a series of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi themed one-shot comics from Marvel will hit the stores in Star War: Return of the Jedi – Jabba’s Palace #1.

Today I have the official preview of the comic that shows a bitt about the plot. The story is centered around Jabba’s protocol droid, Eightyem. This is the same protocol droid that was referenced in this scene of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi as having been disintegrated by Jabba before R2 and C-3PO arrived in the movie.

This comic will tell us how Eightyem was destroyed and why. Essentially why there was a job opening for Threepio in Return of the Jedi when they were sent as “gifts” by Luke Skywalker as part of a larger plan to free Han Solo.

The preview also introduces a new character. A Twi’lek with an eye patch named Silvan Kaan. This will be Silvan’s first comic appearance.

No clue what happens but it appears Eightyem will be used in a plot to trick Jabba and therefore gets the droid disintegrated. I’m not sure if this will be a key issue or not but the story sounds interesting and I’m excited to check it out.
