After getting the first appearance of Jul Tambor in Star Wars: Darth Vader #29 and a whole slew of first appearances in Dark Horse’s Star Wars: High Republic Adventures #1 (2022) we have another exciting week ahead of us with Star Wars: Hidden Empire #2 and Star Wars Insider #215.
After the first issue, Star Wars: Hidden Empire, the 3rd act in Charles Soule’s Qi’ra Trilogy, has my attention. Issue #1 is fantastic. The reaction has been fantastic from fans as it sold out and is getting a 2nd printing.
Tons of questions remain in this series:
- Who are the two mysterious figures listening to The Archivist tell this story? (I’m guessing Luke and Jedi Leia post Return of the Jedi)
- What ancient Sith will come out of the Fermatta Cage? (I’m predicting Darth Zannah but I honestly have no clue)
- Will Director Barsha, who was strategically blacked out in the 5th and final issue of Crimson Reign #5 reappear and be important?
- And most importantly… will Qi’ra die? Smashing my hopes that Emilia Clarke will reprise the role in an upcoming Mandoverse show.
Who the kark knows? But I’m here for it.

For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 12/05/22 this week.
