We published a sneak peek at Star Wars The High Republic Adventures Monster of Temple Peak back in April. Since then, IDW have split what was originally planned as a graphic novel into 4 traditional sized individual comic issues. Pre-orders are now open for Monster of Temple Peak #1 by Cavan Scott and Rachael Stott, releasing in August 2021.
In Monster of Temple Peak #1, we expect Ty Yorrick’s first comic appearance. The former Jedi is now a saber-for-hire monster hunter in a similar vein to something like Witcher. Now, there is ample time for Ty Yorrick to show up in other High Republic issues before August. Between now and then we have Marvel’s High Republic issues 6, 7 and 8, and High Republic Adventures issues 5 and 6. However, the solicit for Monster of Temple Peak #1 expressly states that it will be Ty’s first appearance. Ok, IDW, we’ll trust your word until we find out otherwise. Check out the solicits and pre-orders for Monster of Temple Peak and the other IDW and Marvel books releasing in August.
Meanwhile, over on the Marvel side of things, we get Orla Jareni’s first cover appearance on Noto’s cover A of High Republic #8. She likely first appears in the interior of #7.
