What up clankers The Bad Batch are coming to Dark Horse Comics! Earlier today Dark Horse released their October 2023 solicitations and one listing caught nearly everyone’s attention right away.
While we don’t have the cover art for cover A, the Cover B variant of Star Wars Hyperspace Stories #10 prominently features the four founding members of The Bad Batch; Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair.

- First team appearance of The Bad Batch in a traditional comic
- First full appearance of Hunter in a traditional comic
- First full appearance of Wrecker in a traditional comic
- First full appearance of Tech in a traditional comic
- First full appearance of Crosshair in a traditional comic
Which would make this a pretty big key.
Not many places have it up for pre-order yet but The Comic Corner has them up already including pretty good deals on 5 copy bundles.

UPDATE: There has been some confusion regarding the publisher’s description from the solicitation on this issue because it does not reference the Bad Batch but rather Mace Windu and Yoda. This is a confirmed mistake from Dark Horse. Here’s what Matt Dryer, Dark Horse comics editor, said about it:
While this will be considered the first full appearance of the fellas from the Bad Batch it wont be their first cover appearance.
A little over a year ago, June 1st, 2022, the Bad Batch appeared on the cover of the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary variant of Star Wars: Darth Vader #23 by comic artist Chris Sprouse.

It’s the first cover appearance on a comic but since they appear on the cover of this variant only and are not a part of the story at all, most collectors don’t consider it their first full appearance.
There’s also a Screen Comix graphic novel that came out in May last year called The Bad Batch: Hunted! but most collectors don’t consider those actual comics since it’s just shots from the show published in comic panel form.
In my eyes, the one you really want is Star Wars Hyperspace #10. It’s their first non TV show story and will be the most sought after by a wide margin in my opinion.
But as the Bad Batch have proven, good soldiers don’t always have to follow orders. Collect and value what you personally like best.
