If you’re unfamiliar with this series here’s the gist. It’s a 4 part mini-series adaptation from Marvel Comics of Timothy Zahn’s novel, Star Wars Thrawn Alliances.
There will be plenty of first appearances in this series as nearly (if not all) characters created for the book will be getting their first appearances. The most important from a lore standpoint are the Grysk. A conquering species who aim to take over the entire galaxy. Thrawn’s entire reason for leaving the Chiss Ascendancy (his home) was to solicit Anakin Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine’s help in fighting them off.
We’ve never actually seen what they look like. We only have a tiny bit of description in the book. So this comic series will give us our first official look at what the Grysk look like. That should happen in issue 3 or 4 of this series.
Thrawn’s relationship with Anakin and the looming threat of the Grysk for both the Chiss Ascendancy and The Empire are the primary focuses of this book and comic adaptation. Should be a good time.
