Starwars.com just announced that Marvel comics is producing a comic adaption of the DisneyPlus TV series this fall.

Similar to the Star Wars: The Mandalorian adaptations, this 6-issue limited series by Jody Houser (she also adapted Star Wars: Thrawn into comics) and Salavador Larocca will show every episode of the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi show in comic form.
Check out these covers by Phil Noto, Lee Garbett, and Taurin Clarke.
“Adaptations are how I got my start in Star Wars comics, and I’m always excited to try my hand at another,” Houser tells StarWars.com. “Obi-Wan Kenobi introduced some fantastic new characters, as well as giving us new insight into old favorites, and I hope fans enjoy seeing a familiar story play out in a whole new medium.”
I have a love/hate relationship with comic adaptions. But I’m mostly indifferent about them. I much prefer new stories. I think most people do. But it is fun to get to see the best moments from the show from a comic artist’s point of view.
You also have a clear guideline for first appearances. This series will have the first appearances of Reva aka the 3rd sister, Ned-B (rip buddy), Tala Durith, and others.

In my experience show and movie comic adaptations lower the value ceiling since everyone knows they are coming. It’s why Star Wars: The Force Awakens #1 can be found for $10-$15 even though it’s jam packed full of huge characters from the movies. Including Daisy Ridley who is set to lead another movie in 2026 about her New Jedi Order.
Not sure on when the release date will be for this series just yet. I’d guess September or October for issue #1 though.
