Star Wars: Thrawn Alliances by Jody Houser, Timothy Zahn, Andrea Di Vito, and Pat Olliffe comes out this Wednesday on February 28th, 2024 and today we get a sneak peek into the issue with a 5-page preview from Marvel Comics!

This is the 2nd issue of the 4-part adaptation and will tell the 2-part story of Anakin Skywalker and Thrawn rescuing Padme and then years later Darth Vader & Thrawn uncovering a mysterious disturbance in the force that Palpatine felt near Batuu.
Both stories center around a war-like species called the Grysk. The Grysk were the primary, albeit mysterious, threat to Thrawn’s species and the Chiss Ascendancy. In this book, we see the Grysk have begun to operate in Imperial space, thus warranting Thrawn’s involvement as a Grand Admiral serving the empire.
The species in the preview are not the Grysk though. They are the Darshi who, while under the control of the Grysk, are a different species entirely.
It’s unclear if the Grysk will appear in this issue. I hope they do. We’ve never seen official art of what they look like. And the chapters line up where it’s possible that they’re in this issue. But it’s not certain if that part of the story will be here or in issue #3.
