Star Wars Insider #218 from Titan Comics comes out in May 2023 and I just noticed that the focus on this issue will be on Ahsoka Tano and the actresses who’ve brought her to life. Based on the timing this is notable and has me legitimately excited to check it out.
Note: You can pre-order these for pretty cheap at TFAW. Here’s the link.
This isn’t a speculation thing. Or a future value thing. It’s an interest thing for me.
I’m personally more excited about the upcoming Ahsoka show on Disney Plus than any other project Lucasfilm has on the calendar.
First off, both Ahsoka and Thrawn would be on my Mount Rushmore of Star Wars characters. I’ve loved every single bit of content they’ve been in and I cannot wait to see how Dave Filoni ties together the Star Wars: Rebels storyline that was left as a mystery in the series finale.
Where did the puurgil take Thrawn and Ezra? Where the f&$% was Ahsoka during the original trilogy? How much, if any, of the storylines introduced in Timothy Zahn’s two canon Thrawn book trilogies will play a role in the show?
We should be getting the first trailer and release dates for the Disney Plus Ahsoka at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in London on April 7-10, 2023. This issue of Star Wars Insider comes out 3-4 weeks later on May 03, 2023.
Since all of the cover art features Ahsoka it’s not silly to think that we’ll get some exclusive insight into what we should expect in the show as the marketing for the series starts to pick up. Plus, there is the added bonus of getting a new High Republic short story in the issue.
In short, I want to read this.
And the cover art for all three is fantastic. There’s the classic newsstand edition, the previews variant with Ahsoka fighting Darth Vader, and then a foil variant the Ahsoka look from the final episode of Star Wars: Rebels before she heads off to find Ezra Bridger.
Check it out.
Ask your LCS to order if if for you or go ahead and pre-order any or all of the three known variant on TFAW here.
I’m torn between the previews variant and the foil variant myself.
That’s all for now. Just wanted to share because I really liked the look of these.
