Jabba’s favorite trophy is getting the negative wash treatment from comic artist John Tyler Christopher (JTC) in an exclusive variant for Star Wars #45. Back in February JTC announced a new “Bounty Bundle” variant set and did 48 hour private pre-sale for existing customers.
At the time he only revealed one of the two variants, a green negative wash variant featuring Boba Fett, and kept the other one a secret. Then last week, while I was at the hospital, he finally revealed the 2nd variant, Han Solo and carbonite.
It’s not really a surprise as JTC left plenty of hints that this would be the cover but it’s still nice to finally get confirmation. Here are the two variants side by side.
Pre-Sale Details
While Star Wars #45 actually came out on April 3rd, 2024 this variant has a delayed pre-sale. This is just how JTC does it. He rarely releases his exclusives in line with the public release date for the issue. That being said, the public pre-sale for both variants will be on May 9th at 6:00 P.M. ET on johntylerchristopher.com.
They will be $20 each or $40 for a set. There will also be CGC 9.8 and some 9.9s available. Though the 9.9s typically sell out immediately so you’ll want to set a reminder for those.
