New Images of Legends Star Wars Black Series Figures: Jaxxon, Carnor Jax, Darth Maul Sith Apprentice, Luke Skywalker

UPDATE 3/19/2021: Pre-orders are live:

Wow! These have been rumored for a while, but official Hasbro images of four Star Wars Black Series Legends figures have emerged! Starwars.com has the full info. These figures will go live for pre-order tomorrow (3/19/2021) at 10 AM PST.

These figures depict some favorite characters from the now de-canonized “Legends” era of Star Wars comic books. i.e. My favorite era of Star Wars comic books! These “Fan Favorite” figures including Jaxxon, Thrawn Trilogy Luke Skywalker, Carnor Jax, and Sith Apprentice Darth Maul, come in folding window boxes with illustrations from the comics the figures appeared in and the “Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary” foil logo on the front.

First up, we have Jaxxon who first appeared in Star Wars #8 (vol. 1). Yes, he’s an 8 foot tall green bunny and allegedly George Lucas hated him! Awesome stuff. Can’t wait to pose him next to Jar Jar where they can discuss the nuances of upsetting Star Wars fans.

Next, we have Darth Maul, Sith Apprentice. This shirtless Dathomirian is supposed to depict his appearance in Ron Marz’ great Darth Maul mini series, and I’m thankful we have him!

Next up, Luke Skywalker in his Post-Return of the Jedi Thrawn Trilogy get up. He comes packed with an Ysalimiri, the creature that famously negates the use of the force whenever it’s in the area. This figure depicts Luke from Mike Baron’s comic adaptation of the Thrawn Trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and the Last Command). Too bad we didn’t get Mara Jade, though.

This one is a head-scratcher. The box says “Carnor Jax” who is an ex-Royal Guard turned ruler of the remnants of the Empire in the Crimson Empire trilogy. He first appears in Crimson Empire #1.

What’s strange to me is that this outfit doesn’t particularly resemble Carnor Jax. When Jax ascends to rule the Empire he dons a suit of armor that is more dominated by black. Also that fabulous Dave Dorman illustration on the inside of the figure case is an image of Kir Kanos (the Crimson Empire protagonist to Carnor Jax’s antagonist). I don’t think Hasbro did their research on this one. Decide for yourself:
