Ok, first off I just want to say dank farrik this looks kriffin cool. Today Marvel announced that there will be a new Star Wars comics mini-series spinoff that ties into the upcoming Star Wars: Dark Droids crossover event.
Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad by Marc Guggenheim, David Messina, and Salva Espin will accompany Dark Droids in August 2023 and will feature a cast of savages that would make the Hutts blush.

D-Squad is a reference to an arc from The Clone Wars where R2-D2 lead a squad of droids adorably named, D-Squad. This iteration of the D-Sqaud includes war heroes, terrorists, and completely unhinged psychopath droids. That’s only talking about Chopper.
The full group will be R2-D2, Chopper, 4-Lom, 0-0-0, BT-1, IG-88, and WAC-47. Gang gang. Honestly though that group would rival any non-Jedi or Sith squadron in the galaxy.
While the main Dark Droids series will be a horror fueled epic, Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad will be an adventure comedy that promises to lighten the mood while providing context into who Ajax Sigma is and how the “Scourge” he unleashes corrupts droids from Coruscant to Wild Space.
The first issue will also include a 10-page bonus story called “The Book of Ajax” that ties together Star Wars Revelations #1 and the Han Solo and Chewbacca series from last year (both also written by Guggenheim) with the main Dark Droids crossover event.
