Star Wars #31 by author Charles Soule (I feel like he writes everything) comes out next Wednesday, February 15th and today we got our hands on the official preview of the issue.
If you remember, in Star Wars #30, Luke, Leia, Holdo, and Chewbacca ventured into “no-space” to look for a lost convoy of fuel that went missing in the High Republic Era called the Kezarat Convoy.

No-space is an odd area of space that exists on a someone different plane of existence than the rest of the galaxy and is only accessible via hyperspace travel using Nihil path engines. It’s a cool concept but I genuinely don’t understand how it works.
The good news? The characters don’t really understand either so it’s not just me.
Anyway… when the gang arrived in no-space their coordinates send them to the Great Hall of the Nihil. This hall is a massive platform that sits in no space and has a breathable atmosphere using using some sort of energy field to keep the vacuum of space out.
Once they reached the great hall they were attacked by a bunch of lightsaber-resistant Killdroids and rescued by a strange boy named Forvan. They were eventually let on board a ship and were greeted by the leader of what is called the Kezarat Colony. This colony is made up of the descendants of the original crew members on the nearly 200 ships that made up the Kezarat convoy. It seems they’ve been living in the ships for nearly 250 years.
The preview gives us some background of what happened when their convoy ended up in no-space. How they fought off the Nihil and how they are trapped there with no way of getting back to real-space. We know this through a monologue by their leader, an Abyssan with a lifespan of 300 years or so, who was part of the original convoy that got trapped in no-space.
This will be that character’s first full appearance in a comic. I don’t believe they’ve been named on page yet.
Interesting to see how they get all of those ships out of no-space to make use of all of the tibanna gas, coaxium, etc. that they are carrying. I full expect the origin of the Kezarat Colony to be a plot point in Phase III of the High Republic.
