I come with bad news everywookiee. Star Wars High Republic Adventures: Quest of the Jedi #1, from Dark Horse comics, has been pushed from it’s original October 19th release date all the way back to February 8th, 2023.
Honestly it really shouldn’t be surprising because, while we knew Quest of the Jedi was going to be written long time by long time Star Wars author by Claudia Gray, we never got official cover art or confirmation on who the artist is even going to be.
The good news? This doesn’t dampen my excitement for the issue at all.
Here’s why…
Quest of the Jedi is the name of the comic but it’s also the name of the entirety of phase II.
Since this is a one-shot, I think it’s purpose is going to tie together overarching themes s throughout the phase that should tie into Phase III content that will pick up where Phase I left off, the destruction of Starlight Beacon. It would be silly to shift to a prequel of phase I if it didn’t have some importance to the story moving forward. Plus the description sounds bad ass.
On the ancient world of Angcord, the Force works in mysterious ways . . .
When a pair of Jedi arrive on the mysterious world, seeking ancient artifacts of the Force, they quickly find more than they were bargaining for.
But just what is the mysterious Echo Stone, and what does its existence mean for the continued survival of all those who call Angcord home?
I’ll update this post if I get any additional info. Until then don’t forget to check out the Drunk Wooky Star Wars High Republic Phase II Reading Order & Checklist. I’ll be updating that post regularly with every new variant, comic, and book for the entire phase.
