Hasbro released promo images for the next wave of 80th Anniversary 2-Packs to be released from the Marvel Legends line today. Full gallery and initial impressions below.
We’ll update with pre-order info as it goes live.
First up, X-Con Luis and Ghost:
The mini Pym lab and Ant accessory are nice touches. I’m also impressed with the look of the Michael Peña sculpt on Luis. It all looks promising.
Next, Captain American First Avenger and Peggy Carter:
I’m worries about this set. The two extra shields Cap comes with and the goggles-up helmet are nice, but the sculpts for Chris Evans just look vacant at this point. Peggy Carter’s ankle joint makes me nervous as well. It seems that in an effort to make the female ankle joint more slender, Hasbro always sacrifices balance. Pair that with the inevitable stiff ball and swivel joint down there and I don’t trust she will be able to stand up. It leads me to question, why not just get the Captain America Deluxe Vehicle pictured below. But then all pictures of that set have shown no goggles-up helmet. So, given the choice between the two, what do you do? Hasbro, of course would like it if you bought both.
Then, Iron Man Mark 50 and Iron Spider:
With a touch of photoshop, those clear nanotech connecting pieces are going to come right our and look great!
Finally, there’s Skurge and Hela:
The sculpt on Hela, with three interchangeable heads, looks to give the Mezco One:12 figure a run for its money. No inclusion of her blades is a little strange, though. You’ve given her three different head sculpts, yet the accessories for maybe two small scenes from the film.
Skurge’s armor, on first impession, looks awesome. I think we’re in for some fine detail there.
More later!
