Panini UK announced that they will be releasing a graphic novel adaptation of the Mandalorian Season One on May 18, 2021. This graphic novel will not be available in the United States. The book is currently available on Amazon UK. No word yet on if reprints will be in the works from Marvel or Dark Horse later on down the line.
Although this book will release a month earlier than the Marvel Comics adaptation issue 1, I think it’s unlikely this will move the collectability needle on that issue. Past secondary market performance of foreign editions have not outperformed their later conventional U.S. comic book first appearances (see Empire Strikes Back Weekly UK 127 and 129 versus U.S. Star Wars #42) and neither have graphic novels (see Episode I Phantom Menace Dark Horse trade paperback versus Darth Maul’s later full appearance in #2 of the single issues).
