What up wooks! Marvel’s Star Wars: Legacy of Vader is already heading back for a second printing, which is usually a good sign that people are paying attention.
Whether it’s the Vader branding, the revisiting the evolution of Ben Solo to Kylo Ren back to Ben Solo, or just collectors being collectors, it’s a good sign for the series.
Star Wars: Legacy of Vader 2nd Printing Variants
For the reprint, Marvel is offering two new variant covers, both based on existing artwork but with some fresh twists:

Derrick Chew Spot Color Variant – A black-and-white version of Chew’s original cover, except for anything red, which stays in full color. It’s a cool effect that makes Kylo’s lightsaber and other red highlights stand out even more.
1:25 Retailer Incentive Variant by Ramon Rosanas – A virgin (no trade dress) version of Rosanas’ Jedi Knights Sneak Preview variant. These Sneak Preview covers tease upcoming Marvel Star Wars storylines. The original first-print version of this cover featured Atha Prime, a character making their first in-canon appearance in Star Wars: Jedi Knights #1.
If you want a copy, the Final Order Cutoff (FOC) for retailers is February 17, 2025. The second printing, with these new variants, hits shelves on March 19, 2025.
So if you missed out on the first print or just want one of these covers, you’ve got another chance in March.

Who is Atha Prime?
Originally conceived in the 1980s for an unreleased Kenner toy line, Atha Prime was designed as a villain with a cloning twist. Although he never appeared in the Original Trilogy or Legends continuity, his image was revived on the Sneak Preview variant covers of Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #1.

Marvel is now introducing this forgotten antagonist into canon through the new Star Wars: Jedi Knights series. In that series, writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Madibek Musabekov reimagine Atha Prime for a modern audience, hinting at a rich pre-Clone Wars Era backstory and an exciting confrontation with Master Yoda and his Jedi homies.
