Big news for Star Wars comic fans: Marvel’s flagship Star Wars series is getting a fresh start this May, diving headfirst into the post-Return of the Jedi era!
Written by New York Times best-selling author Alex Segura with stunning artwork from the incredibly talented Phil Noto, this new series promises to explore uncharted territory as the galaxy transitions into the era of the New Republic.

Here’s the rundown on everything we know so far:
Setting the Stage For Star Wars (2025)
The new series picks up after the Empire’s collapse, specifically following the events of the Battle of Jakku. With the dust (and Star Destroyers) still settling, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo are trying to help forge a new galactic order.
Sounds peaceful, right? Not so much.
Pirates and thieves are already slithering into the power vacuum, creating chaos and new challenges for our heroes.

The series will reintroduce some familiar faces—Mon Mothma is back, and yes, Beilert Valance will grace a variant cover by Leinil Francis Yu. But Segura and Noto are also throwing new allies, foes, and glup shittos into the mix, creating a blend of the familiar and the unexpected.
Since this era hasn’t been depicted in live-action or animation, Noto has the creative freedom to design fresh looks for characters while staying true to the actors’ appearances from the Return of the Jedi timeline.
