Here’s a complete list of Star Wars comics and books coming out next week on August 21st, 2024, as well as every Star Wars comic or book with a final order cutoff deadline this upcoming Monday, August 19th.

New Star Wars Comics and Books Coming Out Next Week
Star Wars #49 by Charles Soule and Jethro Morales – The 2nd to last issue in Charles Soule’s main Star Wars run that kicked off in 2020. I’ve enjoyed this series. It’s had it’s ups and downs but adds a ton of great lore about the Rebellion and Luke Skywalker’s training. That being said I find myself more interested lately in what’s coming next than what happens in this series. It’s not a knock on the current stories but rather just excitement based on something new.
The final 2 issues should largely be around bringing together all of the storylines introduced the last few years and character development of Luke and Leia. I know the Battle of Jakku series is the next big thing but Charles Soule has hinted at a new series coming next year and I expect it to be focused on Jedi Luke training Padawan Leia.
Issue 50 should be a good one too. It’s giant sized (64 pages) and the cover art is fire. You can see the covers for both Star Wars #50 and Star Wars: Darth Vader #50 here.
UPDATED: October 2024 Marvel Comics Solicitations
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #9 Phase III by Daniel Jose Older and Harvey Tolibao – The Jedi look for new allies in their fight against the Nihil. I’d expect some first appearances of important Ediadu families in this one but not sure exactly how important they’ll be long term. It will be interesting to see how this plays into the end of Phase III of the High Republic. A lot is happening but the stories are still largely focused on Lula and Zeen’s relationship.
Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 2nd Printing – This book has the first comic appearances of Shin, Baylan, and others. While adaptations don’t typically get the same first appearance love in market that comic first characters get, I could see the virgin 1:25 popping off some for Rosario Dawson signings.
Star Wars: Inquisitors #1 2nd Printing – This was a potentially big spec book for me. I liked the 1:25 virgin variant. But I believe it was canceled a few weeks ago as it’s not showing up on the publisher sites anymore. That being said it’s still up on a ton of shops so I may be mistaken there. Just don’t be surprised if the orders get cancelled.

Star Wars Insider #227 – You can see the full description of what content to expect in this one below but I did want to say that the Captain Rex foil variant is dooooope. The other covers show Eman Estfandi in his role as Ezra Bridger and could be good options to have Eman sign if that’s your thing.
Star Wars: Mace Windu “Twilight Run” TPB by Marc Bernardin – This trade paperback collects Mace Windu #1-4. I liked this series and will probably pick this up for a re-read so I don’t have to dig out the singles.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 8/19/24 this week.
