September is a big month for Star Wars fans as we wrap up two different ongoing Marvel Star Wars comic runs that we’ve been adding to our long boxes since 2020.
Star Wars (2020) by Charles Soule and Star Wars: Darth Vader #50 (2020) by Greg Pak are both wrapping up with issue #50 making these books our official look at the last moments Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Palpatine, Sabe, Ochi, Sly Moore, etc. have before the events of The Return of the Jedi.
In the “giant-sized” (64-page) comics we’ll get a conclusion to the comic storylines we’ve been following for years but also some hints at what’s to come. We already know we’re heading into the final days of the Galactic Civil War with the upcoming Star Wars: Battle of Jakku maxi-series that kicks off this October.
This morning Marvel and Lucasfilm updated the official cover art for both Star Wars #50 and Star Wars: Darth Vader #50 and the artists crushed here. Both issues have some serious fire going on.
