Lucasfilm and Marvel comics announced that we’re officially moving beyond the original trilogy movies and into the New Republic era with a new comic maxi-series called Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku!
Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku, written by Alex Segura and illustrated by Leonard Kirk, will be 12 issues total that will be broken up into three 4-issue arcs.
It’s also interesting because for the first time that I can remember, Marvel will be releasing this Star Wars comic book series weekly. Well… mostly. Right now the 4-issues that make up Part 1: Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising are all set to be released in a 5-week period.
I’d anticipate all 3 arcs having a similar release schedule. 4-issues in 5-6 weeks until we get close the April release date of the 12-book trade paperback.
This post will act as a home base for all details pertaining this series including release dates, cover art, exclusive comic variants, first appearances, etc. for all 3 parts of Star Wars: The Battle Jakku.
