Gather ’round, wooks, because our furry, fearless friends are making a grand return! Marvel Comics has just announced that, this fall, we’ll be getting a brand new 4-part comic series called Star Wars: Ewoks as a way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Caravan of Courage – An Ewok Adventure!
If you’re not sure what that is, here’s a trailer. It’s before my time and is pretty terrible. But I’m happy it exists.
Star Wars: Ewoks (2024) Comic Details
Coming this October, this limited series will be penned by Marvel comics vet Steve Orlando (Scarlet Witch, Batman, Spiderman 2099) and illustrated by the Álvaro López (Extreme Venomverse) and Laura Braga (Star Wars: The High Republic).

The best news is that it’s set in the aftermath of Return of the Jedi, our favorite Ewoks will once again defend their lush, moonlit home from a new threat. INCHING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE NEW REPUBLIC ERA LFG!
Here are the three known covers for the first issue that’s currently set to release on October 10th, 2024.
Based on the release from Marvel Comics, expect to dive deep into Ewok culture, catch up with old homies like Wicket, and meet some brand-new Ewok heroes.

The plot thickens as a team of Imperial-led bounty hunters and scavengers invades the Forest Moon of Endor, on a mission to find a secret stash of Imperial weaponry. Spoiler alert: they’re not built for it and the battle-hardened Ewoks bust some heads!
The release also mentions a. “mysterious new Ewok warrior”. which should be fun. It’s nice to get a confirmed first appearance for issue #1 but I’m not sure what the ceiling is on an Ewok character from a value standpoint.
Honestly I’m not sure we need another Ewok comic after last year’s Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – Ewoks, but at the same time, it should be fun. This quote from the author Steve Orlando is interesting and has me more excited than I expected,
“There’s a lot more to Endor that we’ll be seeing for the first time since the Ewoks animated series—this is a powerful world, a powerful ecosystem, and we’ll be exploring it like never before! Join us for a caper like no other as Wicket races against time to outwit a dangerous crew of Imperial Thieves and save the Forest Moon!”

So, whether you’re a die-hard Ewok honk or just someone who appreciates a good old fashioned Star Wars story about cute bears murdering Imperials, this comic series is probably worth getting.
This should be the first of MANY new comics announced in the next month since nearly all current Star Wars runs (ongoing and mini-series) will be ending soon. The great refresh is upon us and honestly it’s coming at the perfect time.
