Marvel Comics recently announced that Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 and Star Wars: Inquisitors #1 will both get TWO 2nd printing variants. Each issue will get an open order 2nd print and a 1:25 2nd print ratio variant to incentivize shops to up their order for the books.
Everything I know (and some thoughts from me) for both issues are below.
Star Wars: Inquisitors #1 2nd Printing
I was honestly not surprised that Inquisitors #1 ended up getting a 2nd printing but I was thrown off a bit that it took them this long to do it. This is because there are some pretty significant first appearances in this book and it comes out at a time when Star Wars comics seem to be fairly lightly ordered.
In Star Wars: Inquisitors #1 we get the first appearances of Jedi survivors of Order 66:
- First Appearance of Tensu Run
- First Appearance of Elan (Tensu’s master)
- First Appearance of Uhron
- First Appearance of Pan Delesec
- First Appearance of a bunch of unnamed Jedi who died (probably unimportant)
The value of this book really depends on how many, if any, characters from this story survive. Elan is already dead but could show up in “past” content. Tensu is being hunted so he may die.
And Uhron and Pan really feel like red shirts that were added just to be killed to add weight to the story. But who knows. Pan was given a last name so maybe there’s something to them.
Star Wars: Inquisitors #1 2nd Print Details

On Sale Date: August 21, 2024
There will be two variants.
The first is an open order variant of the first print cover A by Nick Bradshaw. We don’t have art yet for this yet but it will likely be a simple modification of the first print. i.e. black and white or a different color logo.
UPDATE: The art has been updated and they went with B&W
The second variant will be a virgin variant of Alex Maleev’s 1:25 first print cover. It will also be a 1:25 variant so retailers will need to order 25 copies of the open order variant to get one copy of the virgin Maleev cover. 2nd print 1:25s usually do pretty well out of the gate for Star Wars but if you’re looking to flip them you’ll want to do it fast.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 2nd Printing
This one may have been the easiest 2nd printing call since in the last few years. There’s a lot of parallels here with Star Wars: The Mandalorian #1. It’s an adaptation of a big Star Wars show and the show introduced characters who seem to be set up for a long term role in future projects.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 2nd Print Details

There will be two variants.
The first is an open order variant of the Ken Lashley cover from the first printing. The difference is that the first print had a thick foil cover and this one will not. It will use the same art but no foil.

The second variant will be a 1:25 2nd print TV variant based on the 1:25 first print TV variant. It’s being called a virgin variant but “minimal trade dress” might be a more accurate description. Based on the art that is listed currently this variant will will still include the Star Wars: Ahsoka logo but the Marvel logo and the barcode will be removed. So not really a virgin but much cleaner for signatures than the first print version.
UPDATE: The final version has been updated and it’s a true virgin variant. The image below is the correct version.
Also there’s always a chance that it actually is a full virgin variant and the art we currently have is simply incorrect. Who knows?
