Hey hey! Let’s take a look at all Star Wars comics and books scheduled to be released next week on May 29th as well as every Star Wars comic or book with a final order cutoff deadline this upcoming Monday, May 27th.
This is more like it. After only one new release last week, Star Wars: #46, we have four new comics coming out next NCBD.
Let’s dig in shall we?
Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White, and Red #2 by Mark Russell and Carlos Nieto – This is the 2nd (of 4) issue in the Darth Maul – Black, White, Red mini-series by Marvel Comics. Set before the events of The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul encounters a new threat to his master’s plan, The Remainders. No clue who these people are but I’m guessing they’ll have some force abilities that cause issues for our guy Maul. I’m a big fan of the Del’Otto and Marquez variants.

Star Wars: Jango Fett #3 by Ethan Sacks and Luke Ross – First off I love this mini-series so far. The story seems focused and to the point. The art is great. There’s no unneeded humor or emotion that derails the plot. It’s just badass Bounty Hunters all competing for a prize… the Leviathan Gem that is the big cause of conflict between the Nautolan and Anselm species of Glee Anselm.
Also, the new Bounty Hunter, Vigor Struk, is fantastic. Vigor Struk’s first appearance is in Star Wars: Jango Fett #1.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #6 Phase III by Daniel Jose Older and Elisa Romboli – The 6th issue of the Phase III all-ages High Republic comic run by Dark Horse Comics. In issue 5 Ady, Lula, Qort, Zeen, etc. rescue their friends from the Nihil Prison ship when it entered republic space from the Nihil Occlusion zone. Now they head back to Eriadu to celebrate, regroup, and discuss their next move. The bad news is that the Warden, Driggit Parse, and Niv Drendow all escaped. So while their friends are safe… the threat still looms.
This has been a fun series. Though, some of the more impactful moments are related to the Lula/Zeen relationship issues. I think those parts are well written (and drawn) but I’m much more interested in the bigger conflict with the Nihil than their on-again-off-again-should-we-or-shouldn’t-we situation. Not hating on it… I just want more battles like last the the last two issues.
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Saber For Hire by Cavan Scott and Racheal Stott – The 2nd (of 4) issue in the Ty Yorrick-centered mini-series by Dark Horse Comics. In issue one we see that former-Jedi-turned-monster-hunter-for-hire, Ty Yorrick, goes to investigate a new job on Temerancé. The job is not to kill a monster, but to rescue a force sensitive child named Lene. The Nihil have been capturing force sensitive children to use in Baron Boolan’s experiments. This issue, #2, will be all about Ty’s mission to save Lene and the other children from the Nihil. I’d expect at least a few first appearances from those children (including Lene) and likely some new Nihil as well.
I’m a big Ty Yorrick fan so I’m looking forward to this.

Star Wars Toys Coming In May/June 2024 – There have been a ton of leaks and announcements about Star Wars toys, statues, helmets, etc. over the last few weeks as Star Wars ramped up excitement for Star Wars Day. Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 5/27/24 this week.
