Earlier this month Disney announced multiple new lightsabers for 2024 but also teased a new Legacy LE lightsaber box set for Ki-Adi-Mundi.
If you remember, 5 or 6 months ago Disney released an exclusive Stellan Gios Legacy lightsaber box and comic book set. The set was limited to 5,000 units and included the unique lightsaber hilt, the wooden slide box with the High Republic logo on it, and an exclusive comic variant for Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Annual #1 by Tony Bruno.
It appears that the success of that box set is the inspiration for the Ki-Adi-Mundi lightsaber because it’s essentially the same concept.
While it has not officially been announced by Lucasfilm or Disney, they did invite Tom Burns, a Disney Parks and Merch content creator, to do a photo shoot at the Disney UK studios where he was filmed showing off the lightsaber.
Just like the Stellan Gios Legacy LE Lightsaber set, the Ki-Adi-Mundi Legacy lightsaber set will also include the Legacy LE lightsaber hilt, a wooden slide box for storage and display, and an exclusive comic variant for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge #1 that was originally released in 2029.

We don’t have any official details just yet but here’s what we know for sure and a few educated guesses from me…
We know that:
- This set includes a dark-stained wooden box with the Doc Ondar logo on the front
- This set includes an exclusive variant of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge #1 (not sure who the artist is just yet)
- The comic has a Galaxy’s Edge 5th anniversary logo on the bottom right of the cover
- The lightsaber is the blue blade hilt that Ki-adi-Mundi used during The Clone Wars
I assume that:
- This set will be priced and limited similar to the Stellan Gios lightsaber. So $325 and LTD to 5,000
- This set will be officially announced in the next weeks with a summer release date
- This set will be available at both Disney Parks and ShopDisney only
That’s all I know at the moment. I bought the Stellan Gios lightsaber because it was the very first High Republic lightsaber. I felt like I needed to do it. This one, while still very cool, isn’t a big need for me.
That being said I’d be shocked if it didn’t sell well. The comic book really adds some juice to the offer for collectors because you can easily sell the comic separately to bring down the costs ABIT.
