Hello, Wookiee brothers and sisters. Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III #3 was released by Dark Horse Comics and includes a handful of first appearances from characters who will likely play a large role in the 3rd and final phase of the initial High Republic publishing initiative.

If you have not secured a copy yet you should still be able to get them on TFAW. I personally like cover B the best because it includes a first cover appearance as well.
In this post, I am going to go through all of the new characters and some key events that could make this a key issue comic.
But before we get started, be sure to follow @drunkwooky on Threads, Twitter/X, and Instagram.
Spoilers ahead… time to turn away if you’re not ready.
High Republic Adventures Phase III #3 First Appearances
First Comic Appearance of Svi’no Atchapat
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III #3 is the first comic appearance of Svi’no Atchapat. Svi-no is a galactic icon and pop star during the High Republic. One of the first “celebrities” I can remember being introduced as a big part of the lore outside of Sny Snootles and the Max Rebo Band. She’s part of the Taymar species and has the unique ability to float. There’s no evidence to support her being force sensitive but the way she floats and the way her tendrils flow as if unaffected have the same vibes as a force user meditating.

Svi’no doesn’t play a big part in this specific comic. She’s on-site to sing alongside Zeen Mralla and Sian Holt (from Star Wars: The High Republic – Trail of Shadows) and not much else. But Svi’no did play a bigger role in Daniel Jose Older’s YA nove from Phase I, Star Wars: The High Republic – Midnight Horizon, and will be a part of the upcoming one-shot, Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Crash Landing, from Dark Horse Comics.
She may not be a big deal long term, but it’s not out of the picture.
First Comic Appearance of Argomom and Bee-Triple-Three
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III #3 is the first comic appearance of Argomom and Bee-Triple-Three. Bee-Triple-Three is a droid informant for Zeen’s droid 5A-G3. I’m not sure what the shorthand for Bee-Triple-Three is. I’m guessing B-333 but I’m not sure. Either way, Bee-Triple-Three is able to get in and out of the Nihil Occlusion Zone with its owner, a jacked Nautolan smuggler named Argomon. Argomon works with the Nihil providing them supplies needed from outside of the Occlusion Zone. Making her one of the rare non-soldier beings able to cross the border as they please.

Argomon and Bee-Triple-Three pass information on to Zeen, Qort, Sian, etc. whenever they get intel on possible Jedi prisoners or survivors from the fall of Starlight Beacon.
Based on the intel they received from a source inside of a Nihil prison ship, they tell Zeen, Lula, Kantam, and Qort that the Nihil are planning a supply run outside of the Occlusion Zone soon. This is of great interest to the Jedi as they are all trying to capture a Nihil ship to use the Path hyperdrive to be able to pierce the veil and get into Nihil space. Not only to rescue trapped Jedi but to help the people who’ve been unwillingly under Nihil rule for the better part of a year.
This is their opportunity.
First Comic Appearance of Niv Drendow Apruk and Deblindrix III
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III #3 is the first comic appearance of Niv Drendow Apruk and his baby Nameless, who ironically has a name, Deblindrix III. Niv Drendow Apruk is an Umbaran Nihil scientist and protégé to Baron Boolan, the Nihil Minister of Advancement. He performs experiments on force users and the nameless to either break their will or make them more valuable assets to Marchion Ro and the Nihil. He carries around a baby Nameless and is acquiring anti-aging supplies in an effort to keep his pet looking young. Unsure why at the moment. I do know that Niv was in the Star Wars: The High Republic – Escape from Valo book but I have not read that yet. So there may be more going on with him than I know.

But he’ll likely be the big bad in the Dark Horse Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures all-ages comic run for Phase III of the High Republic. Making this a key issue for collectors of the era.
I consider his appearance a “full appearance. He speaks and is on multiple panels and multiple pages. But there’s a chance some call it a “cameo appearance” because he’s not directly named and the next issue, Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III #4, will be all about him based on the cover art. Some collectors may think that that issue holds a higher significance. Time and the market will tell all with this one.
Farzala Tarabal Lives!
Farzala is a Jedi Knight who was a big part of the Phase I Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures run by IDW Comics. He was lost and presumed dead by most after the fall of Starlight Beacon at the hands of the Nihil.
But it appears he lived and is planning an escape with the help of Bee-Triple-Tree. It’s unclear how he’s not in a cell during this comic or what he’s been up to. There’s no guarantee that he’s actually a prisoner.
But the point is:
- He’s alive
- He’s feeding information via the droid to Zeen, Lula, etc.
That’s all for this issue. It was a ton of fun. I do think we’re approaching silly territory with how many Jedi survived Starlight Beacon. So far we’ve found that Lula, Farzala, Burryaga, Sskeer, and Buckets of Blood all survived after being assumed dead. It kind of weakens the impact of the disaster in my opinion.
Either way — you can see the covers and order links for the next few issues of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures below.
