Upcoming Monster of Temple Peak TPB To Include New High Republic Short Stories

When IDW lost the all-ages Star Wars contract to Dark Horse comics the trade paperback for Cavan Scott’s Star Wars: High Republic Adventures – The Monster of Temple was left in a bit of limbo.

IDW was no longer able to create the collected edition of the Ty Yorrick focused mini-series and Dark Horse seemed to be focused on their new titles. Panini Publishing did release an international version of the book but their contract does not permit sales in North America.

So unless you were like me and snagged a copy of the Panini version, you were out of luck.

The good news? In this month’s comic solicits Dark Horse Comics officially announced that they are circling back to the neglected phase I story and finally releasing a full sized trade paperback this October.

The 184 page “Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Monster of Temple Peak and Other Stories” TPB will not only collects all 4 issues of Star Wars: High Republic Adventures – Monster of Temple Peak but will also include short stories from Phase I by High Republic authors Daniel José Older, Charles Soule, Claudia Grey, and Justin Ireland, with art by Sam Beck, Jason Loo, Yael Nathan, Jesse Lonergan, and Stefano Simeone!

I’m nearly certain that these will be unreleased stories that we’ve never seen before.

I loved this mini-series and think Ty Yorrick is one of the most interesting characters in all of the High Republic. So if you haven’t read it yet, you should.
