Next week’s new comic book day is May 31st, 2023 and it’s a bit of a light week with no ratio or exclusive variants to break the wallet open for.
Here’s what Star Wars fans can expect next week:
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #32 – With the Spark Eternal stuff wrapped up (for not) this issue is the first in a new arc that has Aphra and Luke Skywalker teaming up again. I have no insight about the arc or where the story is going but I think it will involve Jedi lore because there is a Shaak-Ti variant by Ema Lupacchino for this issue and a pretty sick Aayla Secura variant for Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #33. Just a guess though.
Star Wars: Sana Starros#4 – The penultimate issue of this mini-series by Justina Ireland. I love this series. I’ve loved it since issue #1. Based on the cover art it looks like Sana ends up fighting both Deva Lompop and her brother, Phel Starros. I have no insight into whether or not this is a key issue or not but I am really looking forward it to reading it.
Star Wars: High Republic Adventures #5 – After another delay from Dark Horse we’re finally getting Star Wars: High Republic #5. I can tell you that there are new characters in this issue. Two of them are from the phase II novels. I can’t spoil it here but I can say that the appearances are one panel and will be called a “cameo.”

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, the best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 5/29/23 this week.
