Crazy week last week with Star Wars Celebration announcing new movies, comics, books, and dropping trailers or teasers for upcoming Star Wars shows, The Acolyte, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, and The Bad Batch Season 3. Not to mention four new comics that came out yesterday.
This week we get back to a bit of normal news wise but the comics aren’t slowing down a bit with three new comics coming out next week on April 19th, 2023.
Star Wars: Sana Starros #3 (of 5) – I’ve genuinely loved this miniseries. It’s unique, fun, and has all kinds of High Republic easter eggs in it. This makes sense because the author, Justina Ireland, is also one of the original authors from the High Republic publishing initiate. I don’t know much about this issue other than the cover has Sana riding a rancor and the story will include Deva Lompop.
Note: Deva Lompop’s first appearance was in Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters – Jabba The Hutt #1. See eBay listings.
Star Wars: Yoda #6 (of 10) – This will be the final issue of the 3-part Yoda / Jedi Master Dooku story by Jody Houser. The 1:25 by Okazaki is just bananas. I’ve been a bit lukewarm on the story though it is nice to see more content with Dooku as a Jedi.
Star Wars: High Republic Adventures – The Nameless Terror #2 (of 4) – The first issue of this mini series by Dark Horse comics and George Mann came out all the back in February of 2023. Nearly two months ago. It was my favorite High Republic Phase 2 comic so far and I am really excited to see how this plays out… and who will be able to survive the Leveler.

For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 4/17/23 this week.
