PREVIEW: Anakin Tries to Replace Padme In Darth Vader #32… Yet Again

PREVIEW: Anakin Tries to Replace Padme In Darth Vader #32... Yet Again

Next week Star Wars: Darth Vader #32 by Greg Pak comes out and I’ve got the official preview for you. It appears Darth Vader will continue his identity crisis in the presence of Sabe and Padme’s other former handmaidens.

It seems clear to me that Darth Vader is letting Anakin back into his consciousness bit by bit the more time he spends with the women who were professional Padme doppelgangers. They remind him of Padme and Padme reminds him of his failures. I understand that this would be tough to handle emotionally and how this internal conflict could tie into Vader’s redemption in The Return of the Jedi but I have to say that I am growing tired of this storyline.

I don’t know how this can spin into something new and I’m honestly ready for the story to move on to other plot points.

I’m also a bit disappointed that this story seems to have nothing to do with the Star Wars: Hidden Empire arc that heavily features Vader and Palpatine. It was billed as a crossover event but there has been little to no actual crossover with the Vader series.

Regardless of my personal preference, I’ll still be reading to see where this goes and I am interested to see how the Jul Tambor arc plays out. No way he actually survives but it will be interesting to see if his entire species pays the price for his insubordination.
