Today is new comic book day and the day that Star Wars: The High Republic #6 from the Phase II marvel comics run by Cavan Scott comes out.
Since there were some notable appearances/events in the issue I figured I’d make a post breaking down the three that felt the most important to me.

First Cameo Appearance of Silandra Sho
Right there smack dab on the first page we see our favorite shield-wielding Jedi Master Silandra Sho. Silandra has been a highlight for me in phase II. I enjoyed her in both Quest for the Hidden City and The Battle of Jedha audio drama. While she has appeared in books this is the first time she’s shown up in comics. Since it’s just a single panel and she is not named it will likely be considered a cameo appearance but regardless it’s nice to see my girl get some love in the comics.
The Fall of the Protector
The Protector is the large Jedi statue on Jedha that we first see in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In the movie, it’s already destroyed and half covered in sand. Between the issues of Star Wars: High Republic #5 and Star Wars: High Republic #6 we get the story that tells us WHY, WHEN, and HOW the statue fell. This doesn’t likely impact the future value of this book but it’s a cool part of Star Wars lore.
First Appearance of Jedi Master Larti
Throughout the Marvel Star Wars High Republic comics for Phase II we’ve had a side story that involves Jedi Master Vildar Mac dealing with past trauma from his childhood. When he was a child on Kiffex a Dark Side user who appears to be a member of the Sorcerers of Tund attacked his home town and killed his family. Just before he was killed a Jedi Master named Larti saved him and adopted Vildar into the Jedi order. I am going to assume that Larti is Vildar’s Master for now but it’s not specifically stated.
Plenty of other things happen in the issue but those felt like the most notable aspects as they related to comic appearances and Star Wars lore.
