Fun week this week with three new Star Wars comics and 2 new Star Wars books hitting stores near you next week on March 7th and 8th.
Let’s start with the comics.
Star Wars: Sana Starros #2 – I posted the official preview for this book yesterday. You can check that out here. The short version is that we know 100% that a new Bounty Hunter named Marl Jibs will appear in the issue and has a history with Sana Starros and Doctor Aphra. Apparently, Doctor Aphra stole his girlfriend from him and he’s mighty butt hurt about it. The Peach Momoko Women’s History Month Variant is the first cover appearance of Grammy Thea Starros a.k.a Sana’s grandma.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #32 – This will likely be considered the first full appearance of Iden Versio and Inferno Squad. I’ve seen early preview pages of the issue and they are 100% a big part of the issue.
The obvious choice for me is the Rachel Stott “Inferno Squad” variant as it’s beautiful and prominently features all three of the main members of Inferno Squad from the Star Wars Battlefront II video game. While this issue is a no-brainer key issue for me it will also likely be ordered heavily.
Star Wars: High Republic #6 – REALLY excited about this comic. You may or may not know that The Mother of the Path of the Open Hand briefly appeared in Star Wars: The High Republic #5. Though she didn’t speak, wasn’t named, and was only in 2 panels. It was also confirmed in that issue that The Mother is literally the mother of Oliviah Zeveron, a Jedi knight who first appeared in Star Wars: The High Republic #1 (2022).
While nothing is confirmed, I’d bet that she shows up as a much bigger character in High Republic #6 as she finally confronts/is confronted by her daughter. If that is the case then I’d anticipate that this issue will be considered her first full appearance. The Mother is one of the main antagonists of the phase and is heavily featured in the novels.
Now onto the books coming out next Tuesday, March 7th…
Star Wars: The High Republic Chronicles of the Jedi – This is an in-universe history book of the key players, events, artifacts, etc. of the High Republic. It’s a very cool idea and I hope it lives up to my high expectations for it.
Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars – This book acts as a bridge between the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor video games. I posted my spoiler-free review of the book here the other day. It’s a fun read and does a good job of breaking down the dynamics of the characters who appear in the games.

Star Wars Comic Book FOC Deadlines
For those who aren’t familiar, FOC, or Final Order Cut Off, is when publishers and distributors require retailers to get their orders in. Printers then print according to that number (sometimes with overages). So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, best bet is to order it before FOC. Final Order Cut Off is Monday 3/06/23 this week.
