Next week the highly hyped Star Wars Revelations #1 one-shot comic by Marc Guggenheim hit’s shelves and I am REALLY looking forward to it. Earlier today Starwars.com posted the official 6 page preview of the issue. You can check that out below.
I’ve talked about this at length but I expect this issue to be a key issue. I anticipate multiple first appearances including Iden Versio. Inferno Squad, and Ajax Sigma.
Iden Versio and Inferno Squad technically already appeared in Star Wars Hidden Empire #1 but it s a single panel. The market will likely dubbed that as a cameo appearance with Revelations ideally being the first full appearance.
I’m also intrigued by the cover price. The 40 page Star Wars Revelations #1 one-shot is $5.99 compared to the usual $4.99 or $3.99 cover prices. This makes the 1:50 retail exclusive variant by Jim Cheung likely to have a lower print run than your average 1:50 variant. Simply put, there will be less people will to shell out the money on extra copies to earn a 50 copy ratio variant in my opinion.
I also really dig the Caspar Wijngaard retail exclusive variant. It features the Eye of Webbish Bogg on the cover and is homage to the the Eye’s first appearance in Darth Vader 8 (2020.)
Since Star Wars Revelations #1’s entire purpose is to set up all of the upcoming Star wars comic stories for 2023 I think it has great speculation potential and therefore im targeting the variants with what I believe will be the lowest prints.
